LCA Support is back at Futurebuild in London Docklands

We're back in London for the 20th Futurebuild! It’s a great showcase for innovation in sustainable construction.

This is my own fourth time travelling from Estonia for the conference, this time with fellow EPD specialist Kirke Maria Lepik.

At LCA Support, we first met some of our longest clients and partners right here at this event - such as Vesta Consulting who also arrived here from the Baltics and are also worth speaking to about green building certificates.

If you’re in London and want to talk EPD development and verification with Kirke and I then drop me a message through LinkedIn or email anni.oviir@lcasupport.com.

EDIT:

Here's how day one went:

As you might notice, we like the straight-talking (and lean) approach with all our stakeholders.

We just put a clear message on our jumpers and it’s helped spark so many conversations with building product manufacturers who are investing in EPDs to increase their competitiveness.

There are so many great companies exhibiting here so we’re getting through a lot of coffee too!

Here's a glimpse of day two:

That's Futurebuild wrapped up for another year. Here's some great closing thoughts shared by Kirke.

Systemic change is notoriously difficult, and can sometimes seem overwhelming. But it’s best achieved when we embrace discomfort, collaborate with others, and learn by actually doing.

Last week in London, I had a great look at emerging trends in sustainable construction - and demand is clearly still rising for lower carbon materials. Regulations are playing a crucial part in that, and are still evolving, but it’s really the market and industry itself that is leading. Anni Oviir and I had great discussions at Futurebuild with a large number of building product manufacturers who recognise the value of EPDs for increasing the competitiveness and resilience of their businesses. As more companies invest in EPDs, we also get to hear more feedback about how the whole process can be improved. For many manufacturers, it’s just too slow and confusing right now getting an EPD published. That’s where LCA Support is ready to help. The closing thoughts from Alastair Parvin from Open Systems Lab were particulary inspiring. Systemic change is notoriously difficult, and can sometimes seem overwhelming. But it’s best achieved when we embrace discomfort, collaborate with others, and learn by actually doing. Thank you to the Futurebuild team and everyone who contributed to the event.
