Steel manufacturer Ferroloq takes a sustainable-first approach

Annika has set up Ferroloq, a new factory in Estonia delivering high quality steel products across the Nordic region.

Kirke Maria Lepik and I took a tour yesterday and were really impressed by how quickly they are growing by focusing on quality, innovation, and also sustainability. They see all three as intertwinned and essential for their competitiveness.

We hope to get you a full case study on Ferroloq later in the year.

For now though, I just want to say it’s not often that a building product manufacturer would bring us in so early in their business journey. But Ferroloq is keen to get everything right from the start and continuously optimise their production to remain at the cutting edge.

So if you’re looking for quality steel products - from doors and facades to custom applications - then I highly recommend you talk steel with Annika!

I have to admit… I’ve been a bit of an Anni Oviir fangirl for a couple of years now! Her dedication to lowering carbon impact in the construction industry is something I truly admire. 🌱 So having Anni and Kirke Maria Lepik visit Ferroloq was a big deal for me! One of the key topics we dived into was Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)—not just how to solve them, but also when the market will actually be ready to compare different EPDs from competing companies in a meaningful way. Right now, EPDs are essential for tenders, but making them truly comparable and impactful is still a work in progress across the industry. Super excited about what’s ahead! 💪🔩

UPDATE:

Our Ferroloq friends just dropped off some wonderful steel gifts for our new LCA Support office!

They left us with some of their steel profiles so we’re always reminded of the quality building products that our work supports. Oh - and they also left us delicious black bread (which is the more traditional home warming gift in our region!)
